Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

Despite staggering evidence of waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare Advantage, Donald Trump gave these for-profit insurers another $25 billion after they cozied up to him.

He gave them more money to keep ripping you off.
Health Insurer Stocks Soar on Medicare Rate Boost
Medicare Advantage plans will get a 5.06% rate increase, well above the 2.23% bump that the Biden administration proposed.

Is there a reason the yellow line needed to stop so many times? Car 6054. Stopped twice on the bridge and twice in the tunnel going to L'Enfant. Isn't the point not to stop? Seems like this is more of the norm lately! @wmata.com @wmatagm.bsky.social

This is why people get annoyed by metrobus. Sign said R4 was arriving, then it was here now and now ... Who knows? Thanks @wmata.com ! I can walk home faster than the 40 minute wait.

Congratu-BLEEPING-lations!

It’s time we had a little talk about your use of expletive infixation.

‘Expletive infixation’ is the linguistic term for profanity inserted into a word for emphasis.

(For this thread, we’ll use 'BLEEPING,' but feel free to substitute another word.)

Continues to be utterly wild that NPS doesn’t close more streets for the cherry blossoms and kite festival. The drivers are going nowhere and pedestrians outnumber car occupants by 20:1.

At least 95% measles vaccine coverage is needed in all communities to prevent #measles and stop outbreaks.

The only way to prevent measles? Two doses of measles vaccine.

Let’s close the gap and keep measles away!

Last year, I launched an investigation into the outrageous price Novo Nordisk charges for Wegovy.

Novo now says it will cut Wegovy’s price for the uninsured from $1,349 to $499.

This is a modest step forward. But Novo must do better.

Wegovy can be purchased for $92 in the U.K.

Update: @wmata.com actually fixed it! Two escalators going down at 6:15 pm! Amazing!
@wmata.com why does only 1 escalator go down at 5 pm at Farragut North K street entrance? Very few come up!

Unique to America, our health care system is designed not to make people well, but to make CEOs & wealthy stockholders incredibly rich. The result: We have the highest infant mortality rate of any wealthy country on earth. How cruel, how immoral is that? We need Medicare for All.

There’s a great interview with Nick Park about Wallace And Gromit in last month’s Empire, and this bit in particular stood out. It sums up what artists have been trying to say about AI. The mistakes and the learning aren’t things to be bypassed, but a vital part of the process 🤟

@wmatagm.bsky.social and @wmata.com ouch - rough times at Brookland station due to sudden switch failure at Ft. Totten. While I'm glad to have the option to jump to the 80 bus, it would be nice to tell passengers if they should wait or go.
