Senator Warnock's amendment would prohibit the use of federal funds for the “acquisition, construction, renovation, or expansion” of immigrant detention facilities in the Georgia towns of Social Circle and Oakwood.
Sen. Raphael Warnock filed an amendment to the DHS funding bill that would prohibit federal funds from being used to buy warehouses for immigrant detention in Georgia.

Today we met with detainees including Rodney Taylor to hear from them directly about the conditions in Stewart Detention Center. This detention center is notorious and accounts for the majority of deaths in ICE custody.
