@jayapal.house.gov We appreciate you fighting for Rodney Taylor, a double amputee who has been held in deplorable conditions in a Georgia detention facility for over a year.

Release Rodney Taylor!
Rodney Taylor has been held in a for-profit ICE detention facility for over a year.

His health continues to deteriorate as ICE has denied him medical care and reasonable accommodations.

I’m leading 20 of my colleagues to demand ICE review Rodney's request for release.

Rev. Jackson's vision of a Rainbow Coalition changed politics forever. His pursuit of justice for the oppressed and belief that everyone deserved a voice has been a guiding principle of mine in public service. I am thinking of his family and all of his loved ones in this time.

‼️⌛KEEP UP THE PRESSURE ON MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
Supermajorities of Americans think ICE and Border Patrol are out of control and want Congress to do something about it. Democrats are aligned with the public. Republicans hold the unpopular position — and keeping the heat on them is how we win this fight.

I support Senator Warnock and the communities who have said NO to ICE building detention centers in their area. ICE should not be allowed to force themselves down any communities throat.

Senator Warnock's amendment would prohibit the use of federal funds for the “acquisition, construction, renovation, or expansion” of immigrant detention facilities in the Georgia towns of Social Circle and Oakwood.
Sen. Raphael Warnock filed an amendment to the DHS funding bill that would prohibit federal funds from being used to buy warehouses for immigrant detention in Georgia.

DHS funding ran out at midnight last night, triggering a partial government shutdown.

Republicans had a choice between supporting massively popular, desperately needed restrictions on ICE and Border Patrol or shutting down DHS. And they chose to shut down DHS. 🧵

If ICE and CBP don't want to be called secret police, then don't wear masks.

If they don't want to be accused of kidnapping, then don't drag people out of cars & houses without warrants.

And if they don't want to be accused of being lawless, then start following the law.

Thank you for going down there @ruwaromman.bsky.social and for bringing us accurate reports of what is going on. Nobody should have to suffer the way Rodney and other detainees have. Stop the cruelty!
Today we met with detainees including Rodney Taylor to hear from them directly about the conditions in Stewart Detention Center. This detention center is notorious and accounts for the majority of deaths in ICE custody.

That failed.

Now, he’s on to plan B: Try to seize control of our elections outright.
