For Ossoff and Georgia Democrats, the shutdown fight is the message
The fight over the federal government shutdown has allowed Georgia Democrats, like U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff, to show that they have the grit to stand up to Republicans.

Signs of Fascism protestors held signs today in silent protest

📍 In front of GA Representative Earl "Buddy" Carter's office in Savannah, GA.

The signs displayed warning signs of fascism and served as a visual reminder of why we must remain vigilant in protecting our democracy.

Shocking no one, the Democratic capitulation will NOT result in the immediate payment of SNAP benefits.

Bonus points: Mike Johnson has already made clear the “promise” of a vote on healthcare applies to the Senate only.

Trump’s GOP has no conscience and 7+ Democrats betrayed us all.
Trump administration again asks Supreme Court intervene on order for full SNAP benefits
The administration's appeal to the high court over the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program comes despite new efforts to end the federal shutdown, which would render the issue moot.

We need someone on our side and Dr. Jasmine Clark will fight for us when she gets elected to the US House of Representatives in 2026!
The “deal” negotiated in the Senate puts a vote on healthcare AFTER the open enrollment deadline to be covered in January. This is NOT a good deal and should absolutely not pass the House.

Went to repost this and then depressingly saw it was from 8 months ago. This is still true, and I am now convinced it will remain true until there are successful primary challenges nationwide to the "roll over and play dead" Dems.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

We polled Indivisible members over the weekend on whether Dems should take a deal or keep fighting for the ACA subsidies. Results: 98.67% said keep fighting.

Dems who vote to surrender now are fracturing their own party in a way that will reverberate loudly in the primaries.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

Right now, Democrats want to see their elected officials out there fighting for them. I am thankful to Senators Ossoff and Warnock for voting against this deal which provides no extension to the ACA subsidies that millions of families rely on.

This is a bad deal for Americans.

Voters turned out in record numbers last wk to elect Democrats believing they would fight for working families.

We urge Senate Dems to vote NO on the reported GOP budget package, which fails to address the devastating health care crisis.

Thank you Senator Warnock!
I voted “NO” on tonight’s budget proposal. The fight for health care continues.

UPDATE: Donald Trump is so hellbent on denying people SNAP that he went all the way to the Supreme Court to block benefits.

Now Trump is trying to bully states into TAKING BACK payments they already made to families.

It’s chaos for the sake of cruelty.

Our message is simple.

Stay united. Keep fighting for the American people.
We are with you!
The Tuesday election was a message to Democrats to keep fighting. People are scared at what Trump is doing to their lives and our democracy. And they desperately want the opposition party to stand up to him, not willingly get run over.

The Trump Shutdown is the longest in US history.

House Republicans aren’t even in DC — they’re hiding out at home for the 5th week in a row.

As the GOP does nothing, federal workers are missing paychecks, families are going hungry, air travel is becoming a nightmare, and our economy is sputtering.

Spotify is crashing HARD because of the boycott. Their stock dropped 11% in value over the last month. Let’s keep this going!

Tell everyone you know to boycott Spotify. There are plenty of alternatives that don’t run ICE advertisements and screw over artists.

Support Dr. Jasmine Clark for Congress!
My opponent didn’t deny he didn’t cast a ballot in six straight elections—as per usual, he just refused to comment. If David Scott can’t even speak up for himself, you’ve got to ask yourself if he’ll speak up for you in congress. It’s clear that he won’t. It’s just as clear that I will.

Georgia Democrats relied on a message of affordability to win two PSC seats. Could the same strategy work in the midterm elections?

I’d be happy to work across the aisle with ANYONE who wants to get serious about fixing our health care system.

But we’re facing down a health care emergency that has real consequences for people right now. Extend the subsidies and my door is open.
