Been doing some experimental drawings lately. Not watching news today. Here is my latest work (I’ll admit related to the news I’m not watching)…

Just realized it’s almost Christmas! This House & Garden YouTube of Richard Grant’s home at Christmas was quite wonderful and would recommend it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUGV...

I watched this today and really loved it. As a kid when it came out, I never appreciated the impact it had. It was fascinating. Checking out Matt’s other great productions soon. Recommend!
This video is fascinating and well done (as I've done to expect from Matt) and goes above and beyond in putting Lance's story in context. A must watch

What’s happening Syria is so encouraging to anti-authoritarians / lovers of freedom. Weird though that the only in-depth coverage right now is on BBC??!!

Now, that’s a book club I would so enjoy. Hoping drinks are Cabernet and snacks are Triscuits!
My friend attends a silent book club where everyone gathers and reads quietly to themselves. They serve drinks and little snacks. I need this in my life.

I agree, it’s just too soon to “know” why we lost this. I’m not taking any of the theories seriously. However, I do wish Biden had committed to being a one term president and allowed the process of selecting a nominee; Kamala only had a few months to do it and she did an incredible job.
I can’t stand election post mortems. She was a brilliant candidate. She engaged a lost generation of voters and she almost won. I’m still with her.

This happened because of the immediate public outcry. We won’t grow numb to this!

I’m hopeful it is, especially for our troops and veterans.
Multiple DC sources are saying that Pete Hegseth’s nomination is all but dead, and Trump is scrambling to choose his replacement. MAGA is not happy.
December 5, 2024 at 7:53 PM
I completely agree. Establishment Democrats, who have been making decisions over the last 15 years, have failed us in my opinion. We need “authentic listening” moving forward, outside DC.

Agree!
If kids got raped by clowns as often as they get raped by preachers it would be against the law to take your kids to the circus.
Oklahoma evangelical pastor, Roy Shoop, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the rape of multiple little girls who attended his church.

I could not possibly more ardently support Jamie Raskin (@repraskin.bsky.social) to become the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee. He is a true leader and deserves to be front and center on the Judiciary Committee during the second Trump administration.

didn’t see quite the same level of outrage about these pardons

The post included a video of Pence calling the attack “a dark day in the history of the United States Capitol” as he presided over the certification of the results hours after the riot. Trump to this day criticizes Pence for certifying the results of the 2020 election, falsely claiming it was stolen
NEW on CNN: We uncovered that Trump's incoming-White House press secretary purged tweets from her timeline praising Pence for certifying the election on January 6 and praising Capitol police .

Just a year later she ran for Congress denying the 2020 election results.

Mrs. Betty, so agree!
The Hunter pardon thing is a reminder of a theme that runs throughout media, social or otherwise:

"Democrats must always set a good example for Republicans to ignore."

Me, too. MSNBC lost me forever within six minutes of the Morning Joe show the morning after the election.
Sorry MSNBC, but don’t be surprised by the mass exodus (38% decline) of your viewers since the election. I used to watch your network when you provided a progressive counterpoint to Fox. But when you minimized negative news coverage of Trump and amplified it for Harris, you lost me.

“Putting religion and politics together is like mixing ice cream with horse manure,” Tony Campolo once told Stephen Colbert. “It doesn’t hurt the horse manure; it ruins the ice cream. And I think that this merger of church and state has done great harm to religion.”
