I posted on the potential use of an AI generated image, it struck a chord and a few laughs. I was NOT expecting the newly minted Public Research Organisation to deny that AI was used. Are. Are they, lying? 🤥 www.linkedin.com/posts/nathan...

Didn't take long for the US government's operational meteorology cuts to turn deadly.
Not the NYT edit I wanted to see today. 😢

The USA is the most powerful nation and largest economy to ever exist. Since early Jan 2025 it has been going supernova and it's thought to be massive enough that the following implosion is likely to form a black hole.

Those climate managers and directors, you can stand up to this administration by sliding into this mans DMs with a job offer.
Last Tuesday, I was set to give a talk on 'climate change in the Northeast' at a retirement home but had to cancel due to hourly job threats.

After nearly two weeks of overwhelming uncertainty, today it happened. I was fired from my dream of working at NOAA. I'm so sorry to everyone also affected.

It's been clear to me for a decade that the US was destined to decline. I expected the status quo greed and wealth division to be the culprit. I did not forsee a systematic implosion by an all powerful unhinged tech billionaire.

I experienced the first influence of Trump on my work. During analysis of climate model data I store locally, my script has an error check, whereby a file is redownloaded from NASA servers if my version is currupt. My code crashed as the NASA server no longer holds this climate data.

The NAZI book burning was led by students and the SA. As @oceanterra.org linked, data is our version of this literature. Today US harddrives glow with the sound of scrubbing data, who are the brainwashed students and loyal officials?

Deleting data, deleting values, Trump govt orders and american management does. Trump isnt deleting data from the servers. Trump isnt doing this painting. Many americans are "just following orders", and that does not end well. I honestlt though americans had more back bone than this.
The FBI’s core values, including integrity, compassion, fairness, and allegiance to the Constitution - and oh, yeah, diversity, are being painted over at the FBI Academy. Source: NYT.

The unwavering and immediate compliance to follow executive orders by federal science administrations that go against the views and values of thier staff members is remarkable. So all these federal department executives just follow orders without question? For money? How spineless 🤢

Something to look for in any climate attribution study of the LA fires is, did the study assess the change in occourance, frequency, position, and strength, of:
1. The synoptic weather pattern that gave rise to the Santa Ana winds?
2. The drought conditions that primed the fuel loading?

Wildfires aren’t a problem in the UK, right? Wrong. Not on the same scale as we are seeing in LA, but there are thousands of wildfires every year in the UK. In the heatwave of July 2022 wildfires broke out in London.

In a conference this week I gave a heated rebuttle to the key note. The senior white male presenter (hydro dynamicist) presented on climate action. The second slide stated that "we" in the met/climate community were the reason for lack of climate progress for not advocating science good enough.

Can someone explain to me the AMOC collapse situation? When I was at UniofReading 2005-2016 the research showed it was fanciful but plausible. Has this changed, or is the hype just being recycled?
