Be kind to yourself, burn out takes forever to recover from. Impactwise, there are very few professors who have more impact than you, the rest just purpetuate the student loan ponzi scheme. What you are doing feels scary, because it is, money is a necessary evil.

Go well Dr Gilbz.

Gilbz, congratulations, you have seen what everyone refuses to act on. Accedemia is utter bull shit for the reasons you have concluded. You have put value on your work hours and your mental health, that took me a long time to do and I still fall back into that trap.

Not as much as a good part of the country having to take the day off because of school strikes I imagine.

AI is not useful for weather forecasting. It's what LLMs are to literature. It's like hallucination is a feature in AI weather, just all the research is to control the realism level of the hallucination. Navier–Stokes turning in thier graves.

Of course. I'm just joking that it is inevitable that this govenment will make a regression

I reserve the right to provide this as my expert reaction to the SMC.

Unfortunately, cycling is, for the cyclist, more likely to get you unalived than climate change. (completely unfounded reckon). Another stupid argument could be cycling uses up ~+500kcal per day, that 500kcal has a carbon footprint.

Wait. I think this crisis might be a great way to advertise myself and my beliefs and gain followers and advocate that my worldview is the future. Wait. I think this crisis might be a great way...

Oh, how I like you more now. I'm sorry, did pragmatic realism get in the way of 1960s psychedelia? Heat pumps are made of plastic, KATE. Only flax heat pumps powered by the water wheel of Victorian children's novels are an acceptable path forward if we are to defeat *insert* injustice.

This is the job of any GWP/GTP metric. GWP* just happens to be the newest and most fit for purpose. The framing, goal and associated ethics and assumptions are always going to change how they are used. GWP* is used exactly like you want, how to set separate targets in a fair way between sectors.

Embarrassing

I still can't believe they said its NASA clouds and LINZ (the official DEM mapping etc department) data. Like you would have to go out of your way to use this data and alter it to the extent required to make this abominablly hallucinated replica of NZ.

It was ment to be a bit tounge in cheek. And a bit sticking up for the numerous scientist that work on weather, land, satellites, modelling etc at this institution that could have designed somthing closer to the truth. I fear it's damaging to these scientists credibility.

Grace - not over yet, another more common one.

Another pretentious fact, the 2004 10th anniversary reissue is very similar but mixed without the M People tracks, because they got heaps of radio time so too commercial to be cannon 🤣

The entire series is arguably the start of the progressive house movement and best as a mix, for example the first three tracks are different mixes of Leftfield - song of life layed over each other (yes progressive house is very pretentious). Having said that: Sunscreem - perfect motion is a jam.

One of the worst maps in living memory. Four lines do not constitute the need to adapt the London tube style. And if one is going to put these stops so egregiously out of place, don't use a base map that highlights this fallacy.
