Does anyone else have students that apologize too much?

I've noticed a big increase in students apologizing for things like, "bothering" me during office hours, mediocre performance on a quiz, asking questions about an assignment, or getting feedback on work. None of these require an apology.

Something happened this morning during a lecture that I was simply not prepared for. 1/4

Conference registration rates are outta control.

I just got an email with a rate of $700 for a 2 day conference. Utterly absurd.

Donald Trump is trying to fire nearly every federal worker who supports special needs education.

It’s kids with disabilities who will suffer.

The cruelty is the point.

Few things are as persistent and widespread in U.S. education as shortages of special educators. As a former Pre-K and K teacher, I wish I'd had more training related to learning differences.
