ICE murdered a poet and mother today. I don’t know how to process this horrific act, to be honest, let alone the right’s beyond-fucked-up response to it. This country is terrifying.
You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

I watched a news segment of J6ers “retracing their steps” and placing flowers “in honor of” Ashli Babbit at the Capitol. Reminded of how the Nazis mythologized the Beer Hall Putsch and turned the 16 people who died into martyrs who were ritually honored on the attempted coup’s anniversary each year
