We should use either semicolons (“;”) or commallipses (“,,,”) to separate dependent clauses where one clause is a list.

e.g. Working with Nibbles, Jerry, and Quacker,,, Butch trapped Tom in a cage.

e.g. By working out, fixing my diet, and getting more sleep; I was able to improve my health.

Netanyahu & his partners characterizing their crimes as “broaden[ing] the circle of peace” is why some of our Palestinian partners reject the rhetoric of “peace”. The Jewish + Israeli left cannot let Netanyahu & his partners co-opt terms like “peace.”

I’m seeing a lot of people framing the debate between the anti-H1-B visa faction of the MAGA base (Bannon, Miller) and the pro-visa faction (Musk, Ramaswamy) as a debate about how racist to be. I think this is the wrong way to frame it. It’s ethnonationalist racism vs. scientific eugenic racism.
Trump ignore his MAGA base, signals continued support for H1-B visas.

Accusations of antisemitism for wearing a keffiyeh conflates cultural identity with hatred & trivializes real antisemitism. It also fuels anti-Arab/Palestinian prejudice.

Posts like this undermine efforts to combat antisemitism by diluting its seriousness & fueling confusion of its definition.

This is a landmark step to reject racist violence and the human rights abuse of the US death penalty. #CommuteTheRow

HELL YEAH:

Democratic Rep. Rosa DeLauro SLAMS “President Elon Musk” for interfering with the budget process.

A government shutdown isn't a joke and isn't funny. It harms really people, both those who receive government support and services and government employees. Republicans do this because they want people to think that government is bad and ineffective. Government isn't bad and ineffective. They are.

If you follow online arguments over Israel, you’ll know there’s a group obsessed with repeating that J Street is “many things, but not pro-Israel.” It’s not just an insult to us and our supporters, but it’s a distraction from urgent, meaningful debate over Israel’s future. 🧵

Nonviolence works. It just needs more popular support. But many of the people who condemn violence are just as quick to condemn nonviolence or to simply bow out of any action.

So if you’re condemning violent action it should be a time of introspection about how you support nonviolent action.

Members of congress representing tens of millions of Americans want an honest evaluation— that’s all.

This is something that anyone who is pro-Israel and/or pro-Palestine should support (i.e. all of Congress...).

Members of Congress are frustrated by the White House’s failure to fully enforce our laws. Backtracking from our own requests makes America look weak, is costing lives in Gaza, and is allowing Netanyahu to continue to degrade Israel’s reputation and mock our shared values.

This is what has me so crazy about Kash Patel. Everyone has jumped right to the merits of Patel and no one has even paused to say, “Presidents don’t get to fire the FBI director without paying a huge political price.”
There seems to be a vast under-appreciation for the lines we’ve crossed and the world we’re in.

Trump’s win has basically put us in a post-rules world.

People in power don’t feel constrained by rules and any remaining checks don’t feel empowered to be checks.

This reality has not set in yet.
