What do I know and I'm not saying it's a magic bullet or anything like that but it sure seems to me that Dems should run hard on the Argentina bailout. Not anywhere near the worst thing Trump has done, but i suspect it's unusually clarifying.
Jeffries: "It's perplexing to us that Rs refuse to spend a dime to protect the healthcare of the American people, but somehow the Trump admin found $40b to bail out a right-wing wannabe dictator in Argentina in ways that are also going to continue to hurt our soybean farmers in Iowa & the Midwest"

the president using the office to punish americans that didnt vote for him should really be one of the biggest scandals in americas history
Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.

The Trump administration has frozen or canceled nearly $28 billion primarily located in Democratic-led districts, according to an analysis by The New York Times.

Every single DC journalist should be spending this afternoon/evening finding Speaker Johnson & John Thune & asking them why the impeachment/removal has not happened yet, & continuing to hammer them with the same question over & over & over & over again & not accepting the boilerplate non-answers.
The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality.

I don't know how to yell any louder.

Shouldn't the shutdown argument incl not just reinstating Medicaid/all healthcare cuts but this: why should taxpayers fund a govt that slashes agencies that serve consumers (CFPB, food safety, CDC, DOE etc), and cuts funding Congress has approved? @schumer.senate.gov @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social

We shall see if one of the most unpopular presidents in American history who is presiding over an economy he’s trying to wreck and the poisoning of our diplomatic relations can consolidate a dictatorship. I’m pretty skeptical he has the juice, especially in his decayed state.

Can't keep Kimmel down. Hope he, like Colbert, goes to a streamer or one of the premium cable networks. Let ABC regret this wildly stupid and cowardly decision. @jimmykimmel.com
Imagine being abc, already having paid Trump bribe money, only to have this occur still
“ABC and Disney’s silencing of Kimmel — over a highly innocuous comment — is just the latest sign of how terrified major corporations and media companies have grown of the second Trump administration…

The statement that got Kimel suspended:
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said in his monologue.”

Jimmy Kimmel has a LOT of powerful Hollywood friends and is very well liked in the industry.

Here's a test for all of them.

Will they stand up for Jimmy and finally speak out against Trump and MAGA's fascist march?

Or will they both sides it?

Lets see.

exactly. ABC has no excuse. They have to fight this. @weissmann.substack.com @jenrubin.bsky.social @normeisen.bsky.social
ABC immediately caves to tiniest bit of gov’t pressure. If you don’t defend basic free speech rights, you’ll lose them. Simple as that.

Gov’t hasn’t just threatened us at media matters, they’ve actually used power against us. We don’t fold, we fight in court. If we can, ABC has no excuse

we gotta make this massive folks.
Trump thinks his rule is absolute.

But in America, we don’t have kings and we won’t back down to chaos, cruelty, and corruption.

We’re taking to the streets again on October 18 to say NO KINGS. Make a plan to do your part to turn this into the largest show of defiance against Trump’s regime yet. 👇
No Kings
As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power ...

When super moderate centrist shows like Kimmel and Colbert are being shut down you know we are chest deep in the fascist broth.

What is SNL going to do? The entire foundation of that show for 50 years has been mocking whoever’s President.
I don’t know when it’s going to pop for a lot of normies that they are living under an authoritarian regime, but the cancellation of popular TV shows that make fun of the administration might do it www.vulture.com/article/abc-...

Using the power of the federal government to have a vocal critic of yours removed from the airwaves is a pretty textbook definition of fascism.

Further proof conservatives were always full of shit about cancel culture.
