So if the ACA subsidies were "just a covid thing", but the most I ever paid per month for my family's Healthcare PRE-covid was around $300 per month, who can explain why I suddenly have to pull $1800 a month out of my ass if I want the cheapest, shittiest ACA health insurance plan for 2026? 🤔

I'm having the most petty fight in my head with my neighbor across the street because every single day, someone goes to their house for the entire day and parks their huge SUV directly in front of my house, partially on my lawn, instead of in their empty driveway or in front of their house.

Rick Scott was CEO of a large, for-profit healthcare company called HCA. While Rick Scott was CEO, HCA stole so much money from Medicare they were fined $1.7 Billion.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.

Today this gentleman was finally released to family back in Laos, a country he hasn't lived in since 1978. He's been detained by ICE since the end of July, often being transferred to new facilities without his family knowing. Fuck ICE and fuck every single person who calls anyone "illegal".
The cousin of a friend of mine was detained by ICE two weeks ago. Their family escaped to Thailand from Laos in 1978, and came to America LEGALLY through a First Baptist Church sponsorship in 1980.
