The Venezuelan invasion is just Celebrity Apprentice the US Foreign Policy version.

Tacky, aimless, pointless, unnecessarily covered in gold leaf with no real aim except as a cheap reality show to prop up sagging ratings and views.

And a throwback to when it was popular and people watched. Old.

This Venezuela thing feels very…. _old_.

Going to war over oil in the time of renewables is _old_.

Invading Latin America is _old_.

Trump’s strategy - as such it is - is out of the late 80s Reagan playbook (Iran/Contra, Panama).

And Trump himself is so very _old_.

Ancient and decrepit. Old.

Finally (FINALLY) had the opportunity to play Mothership RPG and it completely lived up to the hype from everyone telling me “you need to play Mothership.”

Thanks to @deadlyfredly.bsky.social for an awesome one-shot! Nothing is as good as starting a session off with someone’s head being eaten.

Ohio State losing in the first round of the CFP to Miami on NYE is definitely a sign of something auspicious.

@hankgreen.bsky.social is messing with my Christmas.

“Are you honestly saying the Chewy Decimal System is impinging on your freedom?”

One good idea and full Xmas argument!

Whether it's a low-level Biden staffer asking Facebook to correct some COVID misinformation or Donald Trump's right-hand man telling CBS to kill segment about ICE sending people to torture prisons, both sides have sought to limit free expression.

This is Frank. Frank is upset he’s only on a blanket that’s on a pillow that’s on a couch. He’s not cozy enough and full of woe.

Only through cuddles and/or treats will he ever find happiness again.

Test bake #2 was Paul Hollywood’s Christmas cheese bread. Honestly I have lots of issues with Paul Hollywood recipes and moisture control. I needed to take out all the stops with keeping water in.

The Roquefort is right up the nose. Dunno if the work is worth it.

One of two test bakes today for Christmas. This one is Chef John’s Amish Apple Fritter Bread with glaze from Food Wishes.

It’s so good the test slice had us hallucinating. But needs less cinnamon.

TIL about the significant downside of baking a bread stuffed with 1/2 lb of blue cheese.

The entire house is now blue cheesey.

The big GOP idea is to let for profit companies sell for profit insurance for more profit.

Absolutely nothing could go wrong with this plan.
Rand Paul: "My plan is this -- let people on the Obamacare market, which is about 4% of America, a small number of people, let them buy their insurance through Costco, Sam's Club, Amazon ... "

The engine powering the Trump administration is cocaine.

Need coke to deal with crises -> Out of Coke! -> pardon dealer -> do coke -> murder coke dealers -> oops war crimes -> need Coke to deal with crises…

This pardoned guy is basically Stringer Bell. That bad.

If you were dumb like me and mindlessly updated your iPhone in iOS 26.1, know this —>

You cannot turn off Liquid Glass.

You can reduce its impact by going into system -> accessibility and turning off transparency.

It’s a toggle about halfway down.

These guys just want to bring back the 70s _in general_ — stagflation, mass unemployment, racism, worthless wars and corduroy pants. Because what I absolutely want to do is trade in my 60 mpg hybrid for a Woodie.

At least we got excellent movies and music out of the 70s.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."
