I can’t imagine someone, say, performing human sacrifice to placate Hathor. What is a cow going to do with a dead human? And what is she going to do, unleash cows on your enemy? Oh noes the grass!

This is such a different vibe from Egyptian Gods who didn’t really care about humanity. They just needed to be flattered and prodded to ensure the machinery of existence happened.
