Frazzled Irish mother and educator. As “woke” as “woke” can be .
Permanent teachers need a safe mechanism to move from post to post . Trapping experienced teachers in one school for life is not good for the profession.

If you call yourself Irish American and you support Trumps tariffs ,which will decimate the Irish economy ,then you’re no better than the English landlords who left us to starve in the famine .

Question for Irish primary teachers - the information note sent last week said that the 3rd language component of the language curriculum is being enacted from September? Did I pick that up wrong? What if we don’t speak a third language? Very confused

Regardless of whether I agree with him Garron Noone made a good point - if we stop listening to the people in the middle right and don’t address their concerns and make them feel understood we will push them further right. We cannot stop listening to each other . Polarisation lets fascism win.

Anyone know what is next for the new primary curriculum? Schools have started planning for the new school year and there’s been a vacuum of information regarding what area should be targeted next .What subject will training be provided for?

Watching the handmaids tale for the first time - the juxtaposition with what is happening in modern day politics is frightening.

Thanks to Dr Niamh Ni Dhomhnaill for writing this important piece for the Irish Examiner - about the use of counselling notes in court, from both her personal experience as a rape survivor and her clinical experience as a pyschologist

I don't recommend mentioning this in the promotional brochures for tourists
Another cloudy today and the Met Éireann stats from yesterday show 0.0 hours of sunshine at Dublin airport which makes it 10 days in a row of zero sunshine there and matches the second longest run of sunless days since records began in 1942! Casement did manage 0.4 hours of sunshine though.

There’s a reason everything feels like chaos right now. It’s not an accident—it’s a strategy. What Trump & his enablers are doing follows the Shock Doctrine: create relentless crises, overload people’s ability to process events, then exploit the confusion to consolidate power.

This isn’t just politics. It’s psychological warfare. The moment we see it for what it is, we stop playing their game.

If you are over on instagram have a look at @trinagolden.bsky.social posts on why females aren’t going into leadership in Ireland. I’m particularly struck with the amount of posts saying bullied out or males given preference due to GAA.
