I've made about $17k all year, INCLUDING my adjunct teaching job.

There is this idea that anyone working in the arts has wealthy family help, and sure some do, but a lot of us are simply poor. If you enjoy someone's work please pay them for it. It is not greedy to want to be paid for your labor.

Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

#PPOD: A vast cavity on the Red Planet looks back at ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) with an icy stare. The crater is located in Utopia Planitia, the largest known impact basin in the Solar System, with a diameter of roughly 3,300 km, or twice the size of Earth’s Sahara Desert from north to south. 🧪
A smooth sided crater takes up the majority of this image, taken from space, of the surface of Mars. Ejecta from the impact can be seen as lighter colored dust around the rim of the crater and even in some smaller craters to the left and below the main one. Dark streaks down the inside cliff walls could be evidence of water ice under the surface. The bottom of the crater seems to be almost flat.

Nobody cares if the output is aesthetically pleasing, because the process, the act itself, the limitation of a single human mind and the resulting creations that capture that one single inimitable human experience... is what makes a creation worth paying attention

Drawn. This gives me hope for a number of reasons. With planning and thinking about the illo the right way, can draw in 2.6 working days without sacrificing detail. Bodes will for the next few months.
