Finally had a chance to sit down with The Knives, the Criminal OGN by Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great noir crime fiction. Now I have a hankering to go back & reread the entire Criminal saga, as it's been a while.

In memory of Darwyn Cooke on his birthday. His short run on “The Spirit” was amazing. Likewise, his reworking of Ebony White to not be a racist caricature. Amazing artist and storyteller, gone too soon. “The New Frontier” is another masterpiece of his (both the book and animated movie in his style).

My wife is on vacation this week, so we scheduled all our busy errands today-flue shots, covid boosters and eye exams all done today. I had the retina photos taken, as I am diabetic, and looking at the color photos of those is like looking at the landscape of some alien planet.

We got our first snow accumulation of the season overnight. Only about an inch (with possibly an inch more through the day). My in-laws, who are about 45 minutes northeast from here, got 3 inches.

#booksky #books Wanted to get back to some of the crime/detective fiction I have sitting in my tbr pile so picked up 361 by Donald E. Westlake. It's an entertaining read, a revenge tale with lots of twists and turns, but in the end stops just short of being satisfying as it leaves things hanging.
