I don't know if anyone else has ever tried this, but this is perhaps the coolest thing I've seen in modern pixel art-ing. Very useful and so many use cases I can foresee!

I love Hytale. But, c'mon... I don't understand this train of thought. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but buying is owning imo.

While I don't agree, I absolutely love this gorgeous game. Would recommend!

I really, really like the terrain with height in 2D. I’ve honestly never attempted this before and would be perfect for my project I’m working on. I’d love to pick your brain and credit you if you have the time in the next few days!
I've been working on making the back of tiles more noticeable (again lol). This time using lighting that only affect the tiles.

After tearing my hair out, I was able to fix the movement bug in my network code: the way #LiteNetLib serializes reusable objects was causing the movement packet to be re-applied when a new one was received.

This marks the unofficial first PTR!

Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening?

I've made sure:
- Everything has a unique ID
- Movement packets are being applied to whom they should be

I don't even know what to debug anymore

Launcher updates:

- Account registration added
- Added an Options form for various game/directory/launcher settings (ex: moved offline-mode here)
- Added an Install form so the user can download any version of the game

Absolutely love this! Kind of mixes RBS with turn-based.
Started to clean up the battle system and #UI. The rest of December I want to work on what I have for the current systems I have and make them readable. Player wise and Code wise lol. The Quest system is in there code wise but is very confusing right now lol #gamedev #indiedev #unity #programming

Does anyone have any tips for creating tilesets? I mainly just need to understand how Tiles connect together when creating terrain sets in Tiled. There really aren’t many good resources around, including what Tiled has on their site.

I've been having the biggest internal battle regarding account management. Decided to use a desktop launcher w/ an API as the backend, including Identity, later.

I'm no UI designer, but this should do for now. Users can login, register, use offline-mode, news, etc, from one app.

Went ahead and added back support for multiple races; players can now co-exist as individual races on separate Tiled maps, while still being able to chat! (please excuse my very poor orc sprite, I need artists D:)

Race language will possibly be added at some point.

Starting work on a logger that will be utilized across all projects. Helps text formatting and necessity based on log level.

Will have options for logging to file, console, whether to print debug on screen, etc. Simple but tedious!

It’s not necessarily bad to be an ideas guy. But you need to be bringing more than ideas to the table for your game.

Pick a part of the game you want to work on and learn how to excel at that.

It can be any aspect. Art, Programming, graphic design.

Anything! Learn it!

Fixed an odd error in NPC pathing where their direction would return NaN, breaking the npc.

Added some pretty basic NPC pathfinding and networked movement.

NPCs use "Behaviors" to roam and will eventually use them to heal, attack, speak, etc. A Behavior is just a simple class that defines what actions to take on any given event, identified by a unique id.

Implemented an offline play mode.

Need to write a design doc for translating server-side game data (movement speeds, characters, NPCs, etc) so all of this can be managed without a server.
