You made a solid point and this works for more than just gameplay; implementing new features will be easier to play around with before adding them to the networked side of things.

I agree; I have a local branch with some offline functionality in mind but I wanted to pursue the primary idea for a while. Unsure of the scope of an offline mode as of yet.
- ai players?
- scaling for a solo player
- condensed gameplay?

Thanks for the thought!

I'd love to see it; I saw a project similar sounding to that a few weeks ago called Erenshor that was honestly awe-inspiring.

I had a similar idea of creating networked sessions/player so online characters could be synced for things like AH, mail, but SP otherwise.

Rewarding but cumbersome!

Game jams are excellent for that “happiness” factor because you learn what works and what doesn’t, what matters, and also project management skills that keep you on track!

(disclaimer: has never shipped a game yet) as someone working on a years-long project, you have to be self-aware of the fact that it is draining, it will be difficult and at times, will appear as though your idea is no longer great/fun because you’ve been at it so long.

Keep going! :)

Well if the tiles and objects need to be tinted at times with the cycle, I would think that would be the best route (thanks MG Discord)

I’m not looking for overly performant 🤔
