I know a staggering number of people who now no longer have careers that were directly focused on *helping people survive disasters and war*. Vast swaths of my network have had their essential global work callously vaporized by Musk and Trump.

my friend whose career vaporized fastest was mostly USAID-funded to go all over the world in the aftermath of war & natural disaster and make sure people had clean water, which honestly seems like an unalloyed good
