Proudly cosponsored @repbonnie.bsky.social and @beyer.house.gov's legislation to demand that ICE and all immigration officers wear visible uniforms during operations, ensuring transparency and safety.

We must end the climate of fear, protect due process, and keep our communities safe.

🚨Reports around the country today that some people who showed up for their immigration court hearings were told that ICE prosecutors had dismissed their cases — and then were arrested moments later by ICE officers and taken to detention centers for unknown reasons. Happening in multiple cities.
Immigration court has always been the one place I could tell people they could feel safe from ICE enforcement... until today.

I have one trusted report of FIFTY ICE officers swarming a CA immigration court. This hasn't hit media yet but advocates have been hearing reports from around the country.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL: Plainclothes ICE agents are inside the Immigration court buildings at 26 Federal, 290 Broadway & 201 Varick St, harassing people for their paperwork & detaining them. ALL OUT TO VARICK STREET DETENTION CENTER NOW 2 PM TILL LATE: meet at the garage on the West Houston Street Side

Rare for a public poll, we did a survey experiment to test whether priming respondents about the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia impacts support for Trump's broader immigration agenda. It does. Support for blanket deportations fell 20 points after hearing about Garcia's case.

No matter what this Administration tells the American people, the law is very clear: Members of Congress have a legal right to enter any DHS detention facility to conduct oversight without prior notice - something I’ve done twice this year without issue.

Mayor Baraka was ARRESTED for doing what Republicans claim to care about: OVERSIGHT.

Like the true leaders they are, Rep. Coleman, @replamonica.bsky.social, & @menendez.house.gov were right there with him.

The Trump admin keeps weaponizing power against anyone who dares hold them accountable.

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.
