This is the first-ever human case of H5N5 avian influenza. It's been seen in animals before, but never before in people.
It was confirmed in a Grays Harbor County resident that had backyard poultry which may have mingled with wild birds.

Feeding America has a page where you can input your zip code and it'll show you all of the food banks near you overlaid on a map. If you need it, it's there. If you don't need it, think about donating money if you have it and your time if you don't.

This is your reminder that while Secretary Pete was in office, the FAA controlled over 40 million scheduled airline flights with a grand total of 0 accidents and 0 govt shutdowns. The FAA does not control most small aircraft flying between airfields with no control tower).
The FAA reported staffing issues at airports in Nashville, Boston, Dallas, Chicago and Philadelphia, and at its air traffic control centers in Atlanta, Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The agency temporarily slowed takeoffs of planes headed to the first three cities.
