What can 🦟 taste? 👤🌸💧
Are some people "tastier" to 🦟 than others?

Here we examined the taste system of mosquitoes 🦟👅. I was astounded by its beautiful complexity!
Mosquito taste responses to human and floral cues guide biting and feeding - Nature
Taste neurons of the mosquito Aedes albopictus regulate biting, feeding and egg-laying behaviours by responding to taste cues in human sweat, nectar and egg-laying sites via excitation or inhibition.

Happy 6-yr anniversary, Carlson lab! 🥹

It has been the best 6 years of my scientific career and I’m going to miss them so dearly when I leave 😭

The best career advice I can give to the young scientists: find a mentor, mentees, and lab that you love. It makes science so much more worth it.

Some of the positions of folks at NIH who were terminated (mostly by virtue of timing)

At least 1 institute deputy director
At least 1 institute director of extramural activities
At least 1 program officer (and I am sure many more)
