5 songs out of 33 from my discovery weekly playlist on Spotify were ai. FIVE! This is atrocious and unacceptable! This happens again and I cancel and delete my account. Especially as they don’t allow us to report and block ai “music”. #discoverweekly #spotify

if you report on "privatizing" NOAA its important to make clear that the private sector simply cannot replicate the data collection and modeling services performed by NOAA. They don't want to run it in the private sector, they want to paywall it so they can sell you something your taxes paid for
Elon acolytes targeting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

“It’s been a longtime goal of corporations that rely on Noaa data to prevent the agency from making the data public, instead of giving it directly to private corporations that create products based on it.”
Doge staffers enter Noaa headquarters and incite reports of cuts and threats

This is what revisionist history looks like, in real time. And this also is why it might appear that archaeologists and historians have to dig deep to discover the existence of powerful women and marginalized groups -- because their legacies are so often erased.

Since 2018, Hallmark has made these movies:

Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas

Time for You to Come Home for Christmas

Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas

Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas

Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas

Time for Her to Come Home For Christmas

Once again for the new folks.
Block and move on. Block and move on. Block on a whim, Block weird replies. We are not here to "win" the internet, we are here to read cool posts from experts and artists we would never ordinarily be able to interact with, and occasionally promote our own cool stuff to like-minded weirdos.
Bluesky is officially “open” now (no more invites). So just a reminder to not engage with trolls and bad actors, there is no algorithm here to promote or spread them, replying to them is what puts them on everybody’s timelines. So block and give no oxygen.

Watching a talk by my advisor Bert Uchino. His just said that they've found consistently through many studies, that 60% of people feel ambivalent towards their spouse. AND 47% of marriages are purely ambivalent. Not good cause we know ambivalence increases morbidity & mortality 😬 #SocialSupport

The most important thing in writing is to finish. A finished thing can be fixed. A finished thing can be published. A finished thing can be made into a movie.

An unfinished thing is just a dream. And dreams fade if you don't hold on tight enough.

So finish the thing.

Tis the season for helpful posts about what food shelves need so here's my advice:

If your kid's school is doing a Canned Food Drive or a movie theater is doing a special movie screening with a can of food in lieu of admission: give a can.

Otherwise: JUST GIVE MONEY.
