I think this is exactly right - in the present conjuncture the vital issue for the fossil fuel majors isn't access to exploitable, it's maintaining fossil fuels' central role in the world economic and political system in the face of cheap renewables and the necessity of eliminating GHG emissions

The amount of “this is clearly about oil” posting across all platforms as story after story comes out where the oil industry is saying that the oil isn’t worth extracting is making me feel a little insane

Watched the original Purlie Victorious. God help me, I just realized that the "Ol' Cap'n Stonewall Jackson Cotchipee” character is also Boss Hog from Dukes of Hazzard. Same actor. Exact same character.

if you're a freak like me who used the recently-discontinued Facebook Messenger Windows desktop app (which was just a Microsoft Edge instance, lol) I can recommend installing Messenger dot com as a Progressive Web App through Vivaldi (or other Chromium browser). Works just as well, probably better.
