I dunno how else to describe Kaizo Hayashi’s The Legend of Zipang (1990) other than the Terrys Jones and Gilliam by way of Keita Amemiya. Samurai tokusatsu one moment and a ninjutsu gizmopalooza the next, raw stimulus sewn into a truly oblique fantasy that sparkles with unearthly special effects.
