Rastus, squibs #1 boyf.

My aim for 2026 is to tame him enough he'll sleep on the sofa while we are there

He was the intro to my thread on existential resignation. But I stopped being cynical.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.
The second best time is now.

This isn't about trees. It's about protection of our land and people.

When I get enough followers I'll tell you what we can do about adaptation to climate change

But in the interim the cat's name is Squib

That's her nickname. She asked me to keep her full name confidential

She has 2 boyfriends Sylvester and Rastus
I was gonna post about Climate change but instead here's a pic of my cat.

Share this, follow me and I'll tell you some things.

Today I'm doing a big sort out. Here's a cutting my dad saved in 1945 when he was 13 because it affected him so much.

History repeats.

A climate emergency fund would be useful right about now.

Oh, that's right, Luxon canned it so he could funnel more money to landlords.

There’s still time to order a piece of small, affordable art to end the year on a nice note. Details below.

Don't like him, but I agree, we have way too many charities.

The government removes support and leaves charities to fill the gap

The government doesn't support charities. Typically the poor do via lotto and pub charities from the pokies

We are taking money from those who have least to give

He's obviously awful and profoundly wrong (with just enough truth to justify the whining).

But, in a way, he's also right, in that the govt should do a whole host more, such that some charities are not required, and it should all be paid for by a substantial wealth tax.

I can see the effects of colonisation on my own life, and that of my children.

I can see what we lost and how it affected our family directly. Every single day I am reminded.
I keep on coming back to the irrefutable fact that the people in New Zealand that don't want to address the impact of colonisation and argue "it's in the past, the current generation are not responsible for that" continue to enjoy benefits that flowed directly from that colonisation.
