RIP Nilay Ateşoğlu, a Queer Kurdish asylum seeker who sadly took her own life at the Cliffs of Moher. "I have no family," her note said. She asked to be buried in "a handful of soil" in Ireland. "Do not give my corpse to the oppressors."

Her note was ignored & her body was sent to Turkey.
A Kurdish woman asked to be buried “in a handful of soil” in Ireland – but her body was sent to Turkey anyway. In a note she left behind, she’d written, “Do not give my corpse to the oppressors.” More here: dublininquirer.com/2025/02/19/a...

Eamon Ryan was in a position of real power to change a disastrous sitka-based forestry model, but did nothing. (The Green Party's Pippa Hackett was in charge of a review.)

Now he's lamenting our disastrous sitka-based forestry model???

Words fail.

Eamon Ryan: Storm Éowyn is a reminder why we need more EVs and fewer Sitka spruce trees
It makes no sense to put public money into a forest that is going to be blown down again in 10, 20 or 30 years' time

1 month on from NYE #Newry Solidarity demo

Since a tentative Gaza ceasefire has been implemented including prisoner transfer & Zionism pressured to drop its immediate goal of eradicating Hamas-lead resistance

Zionist West Bank violence & colonialism has ramped up with little media attention

#Newry #PeoplesHousingBill meeting Thu 6th Feb #BallybotHouse 7pm 🗓️🏘️

We’re in an Ireland-wide housing crisis. Northern statelet’s reports project housing supply won’t meet demand even in Newry’s council area

Empty homes, unaffordable rents, crooked landlords & poor conditions blight the landscape

It's rubbish that they're sitting there, but I have absolutely no respect for the councillor trying to get these sold to private buyers based on the fact that they could be renovated by them quickly and then rented out [at some no doubt stupendous] cost.
Seven council-owned homes beside the Phoenix Park to remain derelict for now
The cottages are located in the heart of Chapelizod village.

This is a sickening disgrace.
The Irish government is responsible for multiple children being harmed everyday.
Not a single child should be allowed to abused in this way - and yet it is a systemic issue now, built into how the system works.

He knows that's not true. @pbp.ie was very clear in ruling out FG and FF. Whereas Aontú wanted coalition with FF.

We are strenuously objecting to the wrong interpretation of Standing Orders by Verona Murphy, the Ceann Comhairle elected from Lowry's group!

Aontú & Carol Nolan can stop this stroke themselve. Without them, Lowry's group only have four TDs and you need five to form a Technical Group.

Cairn Homes made €160 million profit last year! That’s a profit of €70,000 per home built. Who is paying for that profit? People trying to buy homes!
Profiteering from the basic human need for shelter is disgusting. It’s why we need a state construction company to cut out the cost of private profit.

I've been pursuing this scandal the last year. This company overcharges parents just to see their own children. It’s also alleged they haven't ensured staff working with children are Garda vetted. It’s scandalous TUSLA gave them more than half a million euros of public money over the last 2 years.
