Happy to see her released in less than 24h, and her right to protest respected, as it should be. Unlike Venezuelans in Venezuela facing 15 years in a torture chamber for protesting against the dictator she's chanting for.

Thinking about what makes me so mad about people's takes on Venezuela. Something clicked. It's fucking dehumanizing.

All your takes on oil, international law, Trump. And our people? Dead, imprisoned, displaced, persecuted, impoverished, silenced. Don't expect us to shed any tears for the dictator.

"For the first time since this tragedy began, it felt like Venezuelans were finally given a voice on the world stage to tell our story without the noise of global electoral politics or distortions of activist ecosystems. Quite simply, our moment to speak."

The speeches at the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony serve as a capstone rebuttal to those who once fell under the spell of chavismo’s social justice utopia

My phone keeps thinking that my Spanglish texts are in Filipino and keeps asking me if I want to translate them. I thought we'd reached super intelligence.

This ARR cycle, we resubmitted 4 papers addressing (meta)reviewer feedback. They all got lower scores than they had before (requesting same reviewers), and all had the exact same borderline scores (~2.5). All papers in my AC batch (about 16) also have the same borderline scores. It looks very odd.

A group of us came together to challenge the dominant narrative of AI research - paper out today. We posit that “AGI” is as nebulous to define as its supposed benefits, and we argue that principled scientific, engineering and societal needs should drive AI research instead. Read 👇

What is the difference between 2 (substantial revisions) and 3 (major revisions) in the ARR meta-reviewer form? Why do we keep both of these?

I'm going to print this out and hang it in my office.
2. Shut up in meetings. If everyone you talk to starts to think like you, then you need to talk less. If you take a moment before giving your opinion, students will use that moment to come up with an idea you never would have.

I have seen some anti-peer-review takes on here, and, believe me, I understand the frustrations, but I would urge caution before doing or publicly saying anything too drastic. We live in age rife with misinformation and anti-intellectualism—not everyone wants academia to survive
