Ostapenko waited until she was down 6-3,5-0 to play the right way against Mboko, but Vicky found a way to close the door (6-3,6-2)! 6 WTA 1000: 2 finals. The 19yo Canadian goes from outside of the top 300 to becoming a top 10 player in a year. Stunning, unreal, everything. Very cute hug at the net!

Vicky Mboko looks to be suffering from a little bit of golfer's elbow (on the under side of the arm, as opposed to tennis elbow, which is more on the top side.) Extremely common tennis injury that usually means time off to completely heal.

Ostapenko told us here in Doha that she found the right person to work on the mental side with and I’m ready to believe it as she just qualified for the semifinals 7-5,6-4 vs Cocciaretto, not losing her brain in a strong wind and not spreading 100 UEs either.

This year, Austin ranking deadline is during AO - before her AO points dropped - so she can not play Austin this year either.
