I very much fear that Rachel Reeves may need to resign - not because of incompetence but because no human being can be expected to survive the attacks being made from all directions. The arrogant bitchiness of Badenoch, the refusal of Kuenssberg to allow her to explain without interruption 1/2

Badenoch is an expert in making personal attacks on various members of the Government, with Starmer and Reeves her usual targets. In everything else she is an irrelevance.

#BBCRadio4Today Is Emma Barnett a graduate of the same school of rhetorical and repetitive questioning as Badenoch?

Think today is a good day to repost this wee gem. Labour will need to get a move on if they want to match the Tories scandals.

#PMQs Sarcasm, arrogance and the usual repetitive nonsense from Badenoch. Little wonder that Starmer doesn’t answer her “questions” aka accusations.

I find Netanyahu’s congratulatory speech sickening - a victory speech rather than recognition of a peace deal. Of course the return of the hostages is cause for celebration but the deaths and suffering of innocent victims in a devastated Gaza should never be dismissed as a necessary evil by anyone.

Badenoch “I’m in charge now” showing just how to lead the Tories to oblivion.

Badenoch being interviewed by Kuenssberg was at her aggressive, bombastic worst. Even if she says “I have a plan”, it remains well hidden! Pleased to see she is currently providing more support for Labour than for the Party she leads.

Reform is racist.
Let’s just say it.
Loudly and often.
They’re racist.
Don’t take them on on how they plan to fund their nonsense.
They don’t care.
They don’t say it because they’ve worked it out.
They say it for headlines and for voters who want prejudice as policy.
They’re racist.
They’re failure.

Every single BBC commentator begins by saying “This couldn’t have come at a worst time for Keir Starmer…” as if they are repeating the official line. How pleased they must feel to have been able to say this two weeks in succession…

Everyone knows that last week was disastrous for Rayner, Starmer and Labour but could Kuenssberg and Mason not focus on Starmer’s speed and professionalism in re-establishing a top team. They could focus on new strengths and possible positive changes. But that’s too much to hope for…

Angela Rayner has resigned and given the findings of the ethics advisor she did the right thing. However, little mention on BBC that the ethics advisor stated that she “had acted with integrity”. Act 1 over, time for Act 2 - Starmer - damned if he did, damned if he didn’t, even if he didn’t need to.

I’m just hoping that Farage’s trip to the USA and his comments about the UK will give some of his most “patriotic” followers something to think about… Maybe that’s wishful thinking 🤔
September 4, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Chris Mason and Badenoch both desperate to milk the Angela Rayner/Keir Starmer situation for all it’s worth. If Rayner acted deliberately, I’ve no doubt Starmer will act decisively. But they are intent on baying for blood…
Is there nothing more important going on?

Labour hasn’t provided what it promised but could anyone else have done better? The Tories failed, leaving the country in disarray. Reform and the Greens/Corbyn make uncosted headline grabbing paper promises. The Lib Dems are ignored by media so intent on spreading discontent. Any other options?

Why did Badenoch boast of how top US universities sought to sign her up as a child genius? It’s almost made me feel sorry for her. A disappointment to her parents and to herself, she set about conquering politics finally to prove her worth. But that’s failed, too. And only 45 years old. What next?

It seems that many people haven't realised the truth about Palestine Action.

And some seem happy to both mislead others to think it's all about some paint on a plane, while purposefully conflating the proscribing with a ban on legitimate protest about Gaza.

But that is not the truth...

Does Netanyahu believe continuing attacks on Gaza will win over Palestinians and turn them against Hamas? His press conference may win support for Hamas when the alternative for Palestinians is so devastating. Hostage taking and ill treatment is appalling but Israel’s retaliation is unremitting.

Jeremy Bowen continues to do a heart wrenching job of reporting from Gaza. No one can fail to grasp the horror of what he reports every day.

Photos of emaciated Palestinian children horrifies us all. Now is the time for the UK to take action. No more stalling.

#BBCPoliticslive. How patronising is Joe Robertson MP…he treats the women on the panel with disdain - criticising but offering no alternatives. He could learn from Sebastian Payne - I may not agree with him but his comments are apt and well researched and he is polite to those who disagree with him.

Jo Cox would have seen “more in common” in action in the House today. Differences of opinion were expressed with respect and thoughtfulness on this assisted dying bill introduced by her sister Kim Leadbeater. Agree or not with the outcome, but this was political debate at its best.

#BBCPoliticsLive A very different tone to today’s programme. Courteous exchange of views, little talking over and no dogmatic adherence to a Party line. Easier perhaps for Jeremy Hunt who’s no longer in the Commons but hearing him admit to specific errors and fallibility was very refreshing.
