You’re absolutely right. I am truly astonished by some of the criticism from people who can well afford to make a few financial sacrifices for the benefit of society as a whole. The MSM and many comments on social media sadly make me feel very much out of touch. At 80, perhaps I am… not!

the out of context attention seeking headlines of the MSM and the pile on from both the political left and right. There is room for criticism but neither no Chancellor can instantly satisfy all demands. As for the unproven Badenoch, she is a disgrace in how she led the very personal charge at PMQs.

Can he quote his sources?

It’s fair enough if you have an income over the threshold - not everyone realises that only the amount above is taxable. I would have liked to see thresholds raised and/or income tax rising across the board, with highest earners paying most, but she has taken steps towards mitigation. I’m a realist.

Badenoch was doing her best to “shred” Rachel Reeves but had little concrete to say about the budget. She was bitchy, mocking and her usual loathsome self.

I shall “suffer” in much the same way but I remember that I do benefit from the triple lock. She has also compensated the poorest in other ways - by increasing the minimum wage and abolishing the two child benefit cap. Far from disgusting imo…

Resorting to her usual personal attacks, with an arrogant, mocking delivery. Punchy - yes, but loathsome nonetheless.

And how could I forget Zeffman? At worst they start the rumour and at best they feed the frenzy. This is the root cause of current problems with the BBC - they try to compete with populist broadcasters by searching for headline making scandal rather than truth. BBC Verify is perhaps one exception.

And various BBC spokespeople, such as Chris Mason…

Given his surname, he’s quite likely to be Welsh. I wonder if his fellow Reform “members” realise? Though this may be part of the battle to win over the Welsh valleys….

So kind of you to clarify.
November 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM
A hint of misogyny…

As it’s made of cheese those landings would have been difficult 🤔
November 1, 2025 at 9:54 AM
Could Farage and Badenoch go with him?
November 1, 2025 at 9:50 AM
I seem to be blocked! What a shame…

Btw Exactly where is the spin?
October 31, 2025 at 11:40 AM
You seem to have a significant level of knowledge and experience. The error you make is assuming that I may not be equally well or better informed.

I believe her husband was dealing with this, and the email from the agent state they had offered to pay this on their behalf and failed to do so. Had he already paid the £900 to the agent? I don’t know, do you?
October 31, 2025 at 7:18 AM
More complicated - mountain and mole hill imo.
October 30, 2025 at 8:22 PM
You seem to be reading a different email. The letter of apology from the agent says something entirely different.
October 30, 2025 at 7:34 PM
Not so sure Kemi will be too upset. She’s probably already jumping on the next bandwagon- possibly one of her own making.
October 30, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Perhaps there’ll be a momentary diversion to further discussion of Andrew, the prince no longer… Timely that!
