Fri: Drove to work in horrific rain.

Realised my commute was, in reverse, the run that Sara Cox had left to do.
The thought of that run, let alone that run in that rain, let alone that run in that rain after 4 identical days makes me feel sick.

What a woman.

Just witnessed a van hit a car in a car park, inspect the horrific damage and then drive off.

Now in contact with the owner of aforementioned car.

Hoping karma exists because I have just ruined a van driver’s Saturday for the sake of honesty & accountability.

Absolute bugbear of mine. Div.

This is really useful
I've collated some data from UCAS for the top 25-ish universities that our students (from the Hull area) progress to to study STEM subjects, comparing the published entry criteria, the most common grade profile for students currently on the course, and the lowest grades of a student on the course...

School pupils are to be taught how to tackle conspiracy theories, spot 'fake news' & root out misinformation. The Daily Mail, ajudged by Wikipedia to be an unreliable new source, is furious. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out why.

Have mostly focused on Maths and reading details as they are my two school “hats” but I am pleased with the curriculum review and, depending on the lower level detail, I think there’s real scope for positive change here.

It’s fascinating comparing the front page coverage of the Huntingdon train attack (below) with how the British press treated another case 30 years ago.

I’m referring to the 1995 Netto supermarket attack in Birmingham in which a man stabbed 10 people, killing one of them.

Anyone know where they modified June 2025 AQA GCSE papers can be found please? Not even a filter for that series on MyAQA.

No idea why they got rid of All About Maths.

I think AQA are close to putting the nail in their coffin for me.

Such a time drain running their course at the minute.

Today was an excellent day.
This job is marvellous for the one day per half-term when you are not totally exhausted. 😂

Reposting mainly so I remember to do it when I’m home but if you’re new here, do this!

Was my first time last year and I loved unwrapping a mystery book on Christmas morning.
It’s time! The Bert's Books Secret Santa.

Sign up by 30th November, and pick a book you'd like to gift to someone else.

I'll work out the best person to send that book to - and in return you'll get a book to unwrap too!

Nipped to the supermarket.
Three women in front of me, together but paying separately:

Woman 1: A lettuce
Woman 2: A lettuce and a bag of rice
Woman 3: Two lettuces and a bag of rice.

I’ve broken some chain by just buying wine haven’t I.

Am I now cursed? 😱

Does anyone know what resources are incoming from Axiom for @mathsweekengland24.bsky.social ? I’m trying to see if I can formulate a MWE lesson for both KS3 and KS4 classes and there’s nothing there suitable yet so not sure whether to start from scratch or wait?
