A few of the 30+ cats we’re scrambling to care for when someone lost housing.
We’re working with Homeward Bound and Central Vermont Humane Society to find spots. They (and many more) should be ready for adoption soon.
Vermont — go adopt a cat!

26th read of 25:
The Reformatory by @tananarivedue.bsky.social
One of the easiest 5-stars I’ve given. Systemic racism, abuse, ghosts and a very brave boy and his sister collide in this fantastic read

Planted some peas (and also sweet pea flowers) because my great-grandfather always said to plant them on Good Friday and it could be Good Friday if Easter was earlier this year. I love fresh peas from the garden. #gardening

I followed a bunch of gardeners here and am hoping to post spring flower pics like they are, but so far this is all I got.

What if the return of the Klan brought with them demons? Then you get Ring Shout, or, Hunting Ku Kluxes in the End Times by P. Djèlí Clark. Part horror and part alternate history, this story features demon hunters in the deep south fighting to prevent hell on Earth.

If your writing didn’t matter, they wouldn’t be going after our books and our stories and desperately trying to rewrite them and/or destroy them.

Language is power.

It may feel weird or somehow improper to talk about your art or your writing, but we need it. It can’t be wall-to-wall nightmare all the time. Art is both counterweight and context. It’s escape and enlightenment and a mirror of our own exasperation. We need it. We NEED it. Keep showing us.

I feel like we need to re-institute Pandemic Rules. Like, we're in a trade war with fucking Canada, of course you can have a Snickers ice cream bar for breakfast and chug wine from a mug during zoom meetings. The rules are there are no more rules. Just pajama bottom it to the weekend. Anything goes.

So last year we bought a seasonal camp that needs a ton of work (think mold) & it's been pretty overwhelming, tbh. BUT yesterday I realized it means my whole family can switch our voter registration to the camp address & vote against whatever Republican tries to replace Stefanik.
