What a week! In untertan times, while ‚The West‘ is collapsing, searching for identity, German elections bring another change and the world that we once knew is over, i had a full and super interesting week. It was marked by the uncertainty and the dramatic changes we are facing.

Such a special day in French politics - and at the Assemblée nationale today.

For now, the parliamentary reality is:
Banque des Ministres - empty.
Streets - full of journalists.
The last meeting of the assembly - Jeudi, October 2.
Next meeting - suspended.
The battle for power - on.

2 more days to apply for this 5-year research-focused postdoc position in my @erc.europa.eu team at @goetheuni.bsky.social on the politics of the educational cleavage!
I'm hiring another postdoc (research-focused, for almost 5 years) for my @erc.europa.eu project on the educational cleavage!
I'm looking for someone with strong quantitative text-analysis skills (e.g. #NLP, #LLM, etc.) to study the role of political actors in cleavage formation.

🚨 New publication alert! 🚨
Why do some people keep voting throughout their lives while others drop out? And how do authoritarian elections - even uncompetitive ones- shape citizens’ habits?
Ksenia Northmore-Ball and I tackle these questions in my new paper, now out in @electoralstudies.bsky.social.
