We're debating on the government funding package right now and every single Republican voted against a Democratic amendment to pass a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits.

Note that this is a state judge, and issues that revolve around state law & the state constitution (and an amendment adopted by voters) — the decision will be appealed up the chain of state courts, but it'd be a surprise if federal courts get involved.

In the map judge selected, Harris carried the district centered on Salt Lake by 24 (per @stephenwolf.bsky.social).
Trump carried of all Utah's current districts by 19-26%. Facing a ruling against that gerrymander, GOP tried a map with 2 districts that went Trump by single-digits. Judge opposed.

Just now: The plaintiffs who were arguing that Utah GOP's congressional map is illegal won in court.
The judge orders one of the two maps submitted by the plaintiffs ('map 1') be used.
The ruling, if it stands, guarantees that Democrats will pick up a congressional seat in Utah next year.

The Democrats are the only party that surrenders when they have the advantage.
Imagine Ulysses Grant after Vicksburg: “Well, they’re not giving in, guys. Let's just give them what they want and go home."
Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
That's the real Senate vote headline.

🔥 A former president & a former chairman of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) resigned from ISI’s board on Friday. One of them posted this warning that “conservative institutions are being systematically…undermined by post-liberals who promote a ‘no enemies to the right’ mindset.” 1/

Senators whose phone records were sought by Special Counsel Jack Smith would gain authority to sue for millions in damages under a provision buried in the Senate-advanced deal to reopen the government.

It was pretty clear from today's testimony that there is a lot of bad lawyering taking place at the DOJ. Directly defying a court's stay is...woof. Not great.
