If you want to attract people, the atmosphere needs to change.
Buses are the least of Nicollet’s current issues. Retail is disappearing and food/bars aren’t open late. Moving bus routes away from central business areas only serves the wealthy condo owners & suburban commuter busses. #mpls
Data on the 20,000 transit riders traveling on Hennepin, Nicollet, and Marq2 corridors downtown.

11,700 of them currently use Nicollet Mall.

In case you missed @blindeke.bsky.social's piece. Nicollet Mall's problems are much deeper than how you route the buses.
For new life, Nicollet Mall needs bikes and other wheeled visitors
It’s possible to reroute buses and make the much-discussed downtown Minneapolis avenue more vibrant, but it won’t be easy or inexpensive.
