Yesterday's govt. voter suppression tactic affects hundreds of thousands of Kiwis, and will unduly impact young folks, Asians, Māori, Pacific.
But it also impacts anyone who is moving, about to turn 18 in the days before voting day etc.

If you’re not allowed to enrol to vote after advanced voting has begun, surely the parties shouldn’t be allowed to campaign either? A lot can happen in the last two weeks before election day, and what about those waiting in line after the polls close? Are they also drop-kicks? #nzpol

Interesting how Meager is criticising Labour’s voting record in the committee proceedings when it was his government that voted for the TPB to pass first reading. This government can’t decide if it wants to reduce waste or not, time/money - and can’t decide if it wants democracy or not. #nzpol

Why is no one talking about how GenZ and GenAlpha TikTok have been using -ussy at least a year? Fridgeussy, Bookussy, Doorbellussy. I’ve seen it all. I’ve used it. Are the older gens just projecting they don’t understand youth slang, which by design is meant to outgroup them to begin with? #nzpol

If I accounted as creatively as #NickyNoBoats - surely this counts as public asset sales.
Not denying Uni’s don’t price gouge rents, but a public institution selling assets for revenue to balance the books is unsustainable.
Maybe fund our education? Invest in better in our future workforce? #NZPol

Does anyone know how to find where public debt repayments (to the RBNZ or otherwise) are recorded? Trying to gauge whether the government is committed to reducing debt i.e increasing payments ahead of inflation, or relying on growth to balance books in terms of debt/GDP ratio. TIA #nzpol
