Luxflakes pointing to Australia as a country that doesn’t have same day enrolment for voting… remind me what they do have? OH! Compulsory voting with 90% turnout. Silly goose! #nzpol

Yesterday's govt. voter suppression tactic affects hundreds of thousands of Kiwis, and will unduly impact young folks, Asians, Māori, Pacific.

But it also impacts anyone who is moving, about to turn 18 in the days before voting day etc.

What's true is "If the Left Vote, The Left Win"

“Strain on the system.” SYBAU Mr. Goldsmith. People wanting to vote is strain? Franchise comes before democracy itself. If there’s strain - that means more people want to vote. How can that be spun as a bad thing? Fund it. Employ for it. The last thing you should be doing is restricting it. #nzpol

If you’re not allowed to enrol to vote after advanced voting has begun, surely the parties shouldn’t be allowed to campaign either? A lot can happen in the last two weeks before election day, and what about those waiting in line after the polls close? Are they also drop-kicks? #nzpol

Another case of taxpayer handouts for the developers, and “work just a little bit harder and you might be able to afford a house” to the workers from the neolibs. But no, let’s punitively micromanage the unemployed. #NZPol

This granny-flats policy just represents that NACT1st believes in landlords providing sub-par housing. “Oh but the building code…” is a minimum, not a standard. It’s firefighting housing demand to inflate asset portfolios. #nzpol

Interesting how Meager is criticising Labour’s voting record in the committee proceedings when it was his government that voted for the TPB to pass first reading. This government can’t decide if it wants to reduce waste or not, time/money - and can’t decide if it wants democracy or not. #nzpol

Why is no one talking about how GenZ and GenAlpha TikTok have been using -ussy at least a year? Fridgeussy, Bookussy, Doorbellussy. I’ve seen it all. I’ve used it. Are the older gens just projecting they don’t understand youth slang, which by design is meant to outgroup them to begin with? #nzpol

If I accounted as creatively as #NickyNoBoats - surely this counts as public asset sales.

Not denying Uni’s don’t price gouge rents, but a public institution selling assets for revenue to balance the books is unsustainable.

Maybe fund our education? Invest in better in our future workforce? #NZPol
