The traditional ideological spectrum doesn't work anymore.

We need to stop thinking of voters on this outdated spectrum. And we definitely need to stop defining ourselves on this spectrum.

Today in history, 1979: A partial meltdown of the reactor at Three Mile Island causes the worst nuclear power plant accident in U.S. history. A valve was stuck open, causing reactor coolant to escape, and plant operators didn’t recognize severity of the incident. /1

I’m recruiting volunteer lawyers to defend these children against a President trying to defund their lawyers. We have to insist they are equally under the law.

Reply if interested. Immigration, custody, dependency experience all helpful. You’ll work with Jewish Family & Community Services.
Today some dozen immigrant children, housed in Pittsburgh, are set for "rocket docket" hearings on their statuses, a week after the Trump administration cancelled the contract that paid their lawyers, @chwolfson.bsky.social reports www.publicsource.org/immigrant-re...
Immigrant children could lose legal aid in Pittsburgh, nationwide
Could immigrant children in the U.S. without an adult face judges alone now that their lawyers just lost federal funding?

We had Russia on the ropes.

They were crippled by sanctions.

They had made minimal headway into Ukraine.

Putin had to survive a military uprising within his own ranks.

He was down to pleading for conscripts from North Korea.

Then he played his ace in the hole.

Donald Motherfucking Trump.

Billionaires like Jeff Bezos shouldn’t pay a lower tax rate than a Boston public school teacher.

The wealthiest and most powerful people in this country should be paying their fair share — not getting tax breaks from Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress.

Said it before, but in 35 years around the globe,I always saw one constant. Soviet Union and then Russia, sticking it to us at every opportunity. Harassment, spying, intimidating, attacking our national interests, funding insurgents and terrorists. Nothing has changed, except our apparent surrender.

This graph from @centeronbudget.bsky.social says it all.

Republicans want to kick millions of people off Medicaid and eviscerate SNAP to pay for tax cuts for the rich.

Another example of the non-tax-paying billionaire class extracting wealth from the rest of us.
Legislation that I passed and was funded by Congress, Solar for All, could reduce electric bills for working class families by 80%.

The Trump Admin is refusing to release the money in order to protect the profits of fossil fuel billionaires. Unacceptable. Release the funds NOW.

Without federal support, American communities will struggle to deal with a challenge as pervasive as climate change, market analysts and environmental advocates say.

Here is my question for you:

How does a system of government like this view people who don’t have wealth to extract?

Say anyone making under $100k. Maybe it's $200K? or $50k?

Does it even want humans who don't contribute (to their bottom line) alive?
It appears to me, based on the actions in 2025, that billionaires are competing amongst each other to extract as much wealth from the system for their own personal gain.
If one lives in a country run as a corporation

By "businessmen" who are billionaires

What is this system of governance optimizing for?

What are the incentive structures?

Who are they trying to “remove inefficiencies” and increase profits for?

This is what a patriot looks like
Rep. Pettersen voted in-person, and gave a speech from the House floor—all while holding her baby, because Republicans refused to let her vote remotely while on maternity leave. Rep. Pettersen shouldn’t have been forced to come in, but I’m glad we have a fighter like this on our side.

With all the focus on "finding cost savings" while also trying to extend the 2017 Trump tax cuts (which primarily benefit the very wealthy) we are missing one of the most important scams in our generation.

How the wealthiest Americans pay little to no taxes.

this.
we need to pay close attention to who the real people in power are and what their motives are if we want to mount effective resistance and countermeasures.
The thing to understand about Trump is like in his first term, he doesn’t want to govern. He doesn’t want to learn. He wants to campaign and look good.

Republicans know this. So there are battles going on right now to take control of the actual process of governing.
