It really bothers me that White Americans answer to watching racism and other bigotry destroying American society is to cozy up to racists instead of wholly rejecting their thought process and holding racist accountable.

It's important to see race, because that lets us see the parallels between what ICE is doing and what cops have done to black people for generations. And it's important to assess and criticize why support is gained only when pale people start to be affected/killed.

My point is: if you really think people are all people, then the racism matters. The fact that so many are willing to allow people to die based on appearance and parentage should be concerning to anyone that loves people.

I will give Suozzi more credit than he gives himself. He knew what the vote was. He just figured the way to "win" was to support the funding because that's more "centrist" and buck the Democratic majority. But morally, he knew what this was about. He ended up wrong morally AND politically.
