Maybe Hegseth and Trump could also send 500 National Guard members to Kentucky, to help administer pertussis vaccines.

I'm tired of responding to bad-faith MAGA outrage, which always distracts corporate media, centrists, & those who feel they must indulge their temper tantrums.

They're blaming all of us now for the National Guard shooting.

Just say:

NEW: The two shot National Guard troops never should have been in DC. More troops is no answer.

The violence is horrible and unacceptable. Trump, Pete Hegseth, and West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey never should have put the troops in this position.

No idea why an Afghan refugee shot National Guard soldiers within walking distance of the White House, but this new USCIS directive was revealed on Monday. Worth noting.
The folks at @afghanevac.bsky.social have in hand a new USCIS directive which largely targets Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban in the wake of the U.S. withdrawal in 2021.

The FBI redirected lots of agents to work on deporting people who came to the U.S. illegally, but who were not involved in separate criminal activity.

Perhaps if they'd been working on terrorism and violence cases, the two National Guard agents would not have been shot.

Trump is the abusive spouse. Here's what he'll do: Hold back SNAP payments, food assistance, so 4 million people, families, children, the elderly & disabled, vets & military, will go hungry. Then he'll swoop in and restore it as if HE PERSONALLY is giving them food, feeding them himself like a god.

To my fellow vets: this is what we swore to defend against.

The President is making up a "rebellion" to use Title 10 and turn soldiers against civilians in the U.S.

We must stand with Portland and demand our brothers and sisters in the Guard are not used this way.

The country we served now has a plan to deport over 100,000 non-citizen veterans.
These are our brothers and sisters.
They served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Now, they are afraid that they will be abandoned.
This is a profound betrayal of everyone who took the oath.

We can't just call #veterans "heroes" and then abandon them to their trauma.

Untreated #PTSD, moral injury, and #TBI are a public health crisis.

This shooting is a horrific symptom of that failure.

This is a betrayal of our service.
