Lots of people are about to be really mad that price of eggs goes up but they can’t get a 2nd job because they can’t afford childcare and when they do finally get the eggs they get E Coli because there’s no FDA but can’t go to the doctor because they got kicked off their health plan. #FAFO

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens.

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.

We often talk about how Trump ran on an explicit authoritarian platform. But this is also true of corruption: During the campaign, Trump openly promised to govern in the interests of wealthy elites, and won anyway. He'll feel emboldened to be more corrupt.

Helluva haka by a rightfully outraged 22yo NZ Maori MP against a bill to downgrade the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi.
This was Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke's response to the bill, a war challenge to its reading and to the proposing party. (The speaker suspended her for a day for "disorderly conduct".)
