Once (but not future) Lutheran Bishop. Happy Lutheran pastor and hospital chaplain. Hoping to share some light, and let you know that God loves you, no matter who you are. And, I thank God for you.
Are you better off now than you were 4 months ago?

as LA is burning, a swath of the country is recovering from an ice storm, Alabama is preparing for up to 6” of snow and I’m praying for the TX power grid, a reminder:

we don’t need climate action just for future generations, we need it now.

the climate crisis is here, all around us

Have I become so dark of heart that when I hear about taking over Greenland, or invading Canada from our President-elect, I just wonder what he is really trying to distract us from? Anybody else with me?

Please join me in praying for all those in the Los Angeles areas suffering under these wildfires. May God protect the people especially the most vulnerable in this time.

People want a change. People are tired of the way it has been, the way it has always been. Why don't we go ahead and give love and caring for each other a chance. In the end we are all that we have got. And we have been given each other. Blessings be with you my friends.

It was a time like this,
War & tumult of war,
a horror in the air.
Hungry yawned the abyss
yet there came the star
and the child most wonderfully there.

It was a time like this
of fear & lust for power,
license & greed and blight
yet the Prince of bliss
came into the darkest hour...

Holidays can be hard. Many are missing people we lost or those we can't be with anymore. If you feel this way please know you are not alone. And may we all reach out, check on, and share some love and care this time of year.

We know God forgives us our sins - the things we have done or left undone. But God also helps us heal from the trauma of things done to us and the pain from all the love we needed but never received.

I wonder if in the end the best thing we can do in this life is try to heal as best as we can, so that we can help others do the same
