In my dictionary, the phrases "post-liberal" and
"no enemies to the right" and "neo-reactionary" and "alt-right" are merely euphemisms for "fascist" and "authoritarian."

🔥 A former president & a former chairman of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) resigned from ISI’s board on Friday. One of them posted this warning that “conservative institutions are being systematically…undermined by post-liberals who promote a ‘no enemies to the right’ mindset.” 1/

Will the Reagan Foundation speak out and set the record straight?
The Trump/Rupert Murdoch brainwashing machine is having an effect. Good Republicans who take all their political messaging from Trump and all their news from Murdoch media now believe that Reagan's views on trade policy are pretty much the opposite of what they in fact were.

Cyber and drone activity is about bleeding the West dry through the imposition of costs on our societies
COMMENTARY: Russian hackers have repeatedly attacked Liverpool City Council — and it's not because they harbor a particular dislike for England.
The attacks are part of a broader strategy to hit cities, governments and businesses with heavy financial losses.

There is some pretty clear First Amendment jurisprudence to the contrary. If we are going to start arresting people for "hyperbolic comments" there are a whole lot of politicians and media personalities who are in jeopardy.
From Bovino's deposition: (1) he calls protestors "violent" if they articulate views hostile to ICE, even if no violence is manifested; (2) he instructs his forces to attack and arrest protestors who express "hyperbolic comments," which is to say, criticism of ICE and Bovino.

Is America inching towards the realization that Russia and its own interests are on opposing sides in conflicts?
Russia supplies weapons to Venezuela, and nothing prevents it from supplying Caracas with the Oreshnik missile, deputy head of the State Duma's defense committee, Alexey Zhuravlev, said.

That’s a crucial difference.
Trump has often admired the wrong kind of power. I hope his new assessment lasts, and turns into real support for Ukraine.

Big loser of the night is the perpetual "Europe doomed" narrative. Great win for Center/center left parties, while far-right got dinged but remains part of the political landscape.
The notion of the far-right always rising and it being 1933 in Europe has just grown really stale.

The significance of a D66 win in 🇳🇱 (if it transpires) will need some explaining outside the country. The Netherlands, like Denmark, has two liberal parties: one rooted in the classical liberal tradition, the other in the radical liberal one. D66 is the latter, ie the left-of-centre liberal party.

The vast majority of these policies mean nothing to voters. They mean so little that we can get voters to change their opinions by telling them their party supports/rejects the policy. They mean so little that they will respond differently the next time you ask them. We have data establishing this.
Here with yellow checkmarks we have five examples of real things that Gavin Newsom and leading California Democrats espouse. Not a straw man.
My take is Democrats should drop these ideas, ideas that do not sound at all like economic populism to me.
