Consistory Court documents are new to me and seem to have a whole new level of abbreviated Latin hell. Taking this slowly. Does it start with "In t[erm]i[n]o ad r[esp]on[den]d[um] li[bel]o ...", do you think? Any pointers appreciated. Goodrich is suing Lyster over a pension #medieval #latin

Q for UK #skystorians - has anyone who is NOT AN ECR won a 'traditional' style grant recently, e.g. pays for your time & expenses to go to archives/do oral history, write up findings, run a workshop for colleagues, do small amount of community feedback/forward and/or public engagement, or similar?

In a bishop's register, I have a new incumbent swearing upon the 'Holy Gospels of God' (ad sancta Dei Evangelia) to pay the retiring priest a pension. A related Chancery case (the pension stopped being paid) refers 'an othe upon the holy Ev[a]ngelist'.
