Conservative Shadow Culture Secretary Nigel Huddleston tells GB News that the BBC should "grovel" to Trump.

The Telegraph routinely spreads myths about a range of subjects - especially climate change.

It has been forced to publish over 100 corrections this year so far.

Yet it has the gall to lecture the BBC - and whip up a national panic - about journalistic standards
The Telegraph’s Record of Climate Falsehoods
The Telegraph, which has accused the BBC of bias and a lack of editorial rigour, has been forced to amend a swathe of climate inaccuracies. The BBC’s director-general and CEO resigned this weekend aft...

I'm really pleased they are gone, but Michael Prescott the man behind the 19 page report that started the ball rolling, is close friends with Gibb, who there are suggestions influenced his appointment as advisor to the BBC, and Gibb is still there. I hope Nandy wakes up and does her job.

Incredible that Robbie Gibb - most influential person on BBC board by many accounts and from journalists I speak in BBC - was involved in setting up GB News.

GB News of course has breached Ofcom rules on *multiple* occasions - no sign of resignations though

The BBC needs someone experienced enough to run a huge media org, and willing to take a job with no security. They need to know the BBC well enough to do the job, but not be an “insider”. They need to somehow be acceptable to a Lab government but also right-wing papers.

This person doesn’t exist.

Firstly, let’s address the “Muslim run council” nonsense.

Leader of Sheffield Council is Tom Hunt.

Yes, there are a couple of Muslim people on the council. And then lots of non-Muslims too.

Ibby Ullah (in the OP) is not *The* councillor for Sheffield. That’s not how councils work🙄

Another very pertinent fact that I have not seen mentioned ANYWHERE: In 14 years of Tory rule we had 14 Prisons Ministers - six in a single year, at one point - and a total of 11 Justice Secretaries, including Grayling, Raab, and Truss. In 13 years of Labour it was three: Irvine, Falconer, Straw. 🤔

It is a very good thing Tom Harris is no longer an MP. What a foul attitude to take to young people taking an interest in politics and the House of Commons making space to accommodate them, as any serious democracy should. "This lot"? A sublime encapsulation of the bitter ageism blighting politics.
The hatred the youth parliament gets is just so out of proportion. Can these people hear themselves. It’s creepy.

Don't be misled by the name, The Growth Commission is not a government advisory body. It's an 'independent' think tank, closely linked to the other Tufton Street organisation and with the same opaque funding. It's a right-wing free market advocacy group. It's been publishing reports since 2023.
