I wrote an Oregon Trail fic 16 years ago for Yuletide (fix exchange on AO3 if you've never had the pleasure). It's still getting comments and likes. Not what I expected my most popular piece of work would be at this stage in my life but...eh. I'll take it. I'm proud of what I wrote.

I treat boycotts as personal blood vendettas. This is about me physically harming a corporation, not about me telling any other human how to live their life.

As I always do with boycotts, I urge: be tough with corporations, gentle with individual buyers. For some people, Black Friday sales are the way they get their kids jackets that fit, shoes that hold up to the weather. Yelling at them doesn’t help the cause.

Ben Browder and Lexa Doig in Stargate remains weird to me because they were used as the 'played by'/face/actor for 2 of my favourite Stargate Command RPG characters/couple (they pre-dated Mitchell and Lam by a fair few years).

The All Stargate All the Time channel is on again but it's Season 9 now. Cameron Mitchell deserved Season 1-7 storytelling.
Last day at my job. Got everything done that needed doing. Said goodbyes. Starting at the new place on Monday. I kept getting asked if I was excited. Not really? Looking forward to giving it a go and everyone seems nice. Just...what's next on the list, y'know?

Boy did I completely stack it 3 waves into going in the water on Saturday. It was quiet, then 3 increasingly agitated waves, the last of which clobbered me. I wasn't even waist deep (and didn't plan to be) so I lost my hat (recovered) and my prescription sunglasses (halfway to Chile now).

I ran a Stargate email RPG from 2000-2006. All of my characters would be retired except the niece of one of the Colonels at the time. She'd be in her early 40s now.

Haha aha. Nan did not want a funeral. She wanted a wake at the local club where most of that side (more alcoholics and gambling addicts than not) have often been blind drunk. I am not going anywhere near those people with booze around. No way. There will be violence and I won't make myself a target.

My nan died this morning. She was my dad's mum. She helped raise me. She made the best Sunday roast, got me my first job, showed up for every performance I was in and took care of me and my sister when mum was having chemo. She picked me up from school when I was sick, even when that was every day.

I got a new job. Well, secondment. I go to a different part of the org for 12 months to be their Digital Manager and run their web team. They're good clients of mine. Working out of a hospital close to home. Bit of a pay rise, promotion, interesting work. I start 1 Dec and finish same next year.
