@Nick_Davidov Asked Claude Cowork organize my wife's desktop, it stated doing it, asked for a permission to delete temp office files, I granted it, and then it goes "ooops" Turns out it tried renaming and accidentally deleted a folder with all of the photos my wife made on her camera for the last 15 years. All photos of kids, their illustrations, friends' weddings, travel, everything. It's not in trash, it was done via terminal It's not in iCloud, it already synced the new file structure. She didn't have Time Machine. Disc recovery tools can't see anything. I called Apple and they pointed me to a feature in iCloud allowing to retrieve files that were saved before but are no longer on iCloud Drive (they keep them for 30 days). I'm now watching it load tens of thousands of files. I nearly had a heart attack. Global CO2 concentrations usually peak in APRIL or MAY each year... at least they're SUPPOSED to peak around late Spring... BUT we're in a growth cycle thanks to ANTHROPOGENIC emissions which means that now (since 2012, at least) - each year NOW sees its highest monthly CO2 values in DECEMBER.

Here are snow depths and their departures from average at this time of the year. The lack of snow seems to be most anomalous in eastern Finland where you are missing about 20 cm of snow. Category is "unusual" which means about once per 10 years recurrence interval.
Snow depth values in Finland measured on 26 January 2026. The values vary between 0 and 76 cm, and are larger the further north you go. Snow depth anomalies from normal in Finland. Central and eastern Finland have 10-20 cm less snow than normally.

This line graph illustrates the percentage change in agency staff levels from the previous year for nine major U.S. federal scientific and health organizations between the fiscal years 2016 and 2025. The agencies tracked include the CDC, Department of Energy, EPA, FDA, NASA, NIH, NIST, NOAA, and NSF. For the majority of the timeline between 2016 and 2023, the agencies show relatively stable fluctuations, generally staying within a range of +5% to -5% change per year. However, there is a dramatic and uniform plummet starting in the 2024–25 period. Every agency depicted shows a sharp downward trajectory, with staffing losses ranging from approximately -15% to over -25%. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows the most significant decline, dropping to roughly -26%, while the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shows the least severe but still substantial drop at approximately -15%.
