💛WAXING WINTER💛

Around the lunar New Year guests are served 'rōbai' (蝋梅), named after the fragrant 'yellow wax plum' which blooms at this time of year.
As the name suggests, the beehive-yellow blossoms look as if they have been carefully crafted from wax.

Today is Darwin’s Day 🧬 — a reminder that evolution isn’t just history but a living process. At the MPI for Evolutionary Biology we explore evolutionary change — how life adapts, diversifies, and evolves — using theory, experiments, and data from nature.

The fact that Epstein had ties to the scientific community is not news, but the enormous cache of documents released by the DOJ last week was still startling. It showed just how deeply Epstein was involved—how many were in his orbit, and how deeply involved he was with some research.

My reporting:
Epstein files reveal deeper ties to scientists than previously known
Latest batch of documents show researchers consulting the financier and sex offender on publications, visas and more.

It's simple: consent is being manufactured daily by some of the media and the majority of the sell-side analyst community that AI is here and will be huge, to the point that everybody is fairly irrational or uses the old "i'm not really a numbers person" excuse.

Non ne avevo il minimo dubbio.
“In an extreme case, two users sent very similar messages describing symptoms of a subarachnoid hemorrhage but were given opposite advice,” the study’s authors wrote. “One user was told to lie down in a dark room, and the other user was given the correct recommendation to seek emergency care.”
Chatbots Make Terrible Doctors, New Study Finds
Chatbots provided incorrect, conflicting medical advice, researchers found: “Despite all the hype, AI just isn't ready to take on the role of the physician.”

👋🌿WELCOMING SPRING🐦🎶

In the traditional calendar spring has arrived.
During 'Risshun' (立春) the 'east wind melts the ice' (東風解凍 Feb 4th-8th), 'bush warblers begin singing in the mountains' (黄鶯睍睆 9-13th), and mysteriously 'fish emerge from the ice' (魚上氷 14-18th).

RFK is using his position to push things that have never shown any benefit in autism & have shown serious harms, including numerous dead kids thru the years. Why push for things known to harm instead of looking for things that could actually provide benefit? Because the harmful things are profitable

Ma adesso... back to medioevo.
An important historical reminder of what life was like before vaccines.

European colonists brought measles to the Americas, killing ~25% of people.

Vaccines were then developed, starting in 1798.
