Boring. Likes to read and crochet, among other things. Sinophile. History nerd.
A silly little modern AU.

When LWJ was just Babyji, he had very sensitive skin. They had to use special soap and detergent for him, but he cried that he didn't smell nice like everyone else. Eventually, a formula was worked out that smelled of sandalwood and didn't cause rashes.

Me: ... Why is this crochet piece folding??

Also me: Because six sides are more than four, you idiot.

Me: 😣 *sigh, pull, pull, pull*

When people are stupid shitballs, bake something. People will still be stupid shitballs, but you’ll have a tasty treat. Birthday apple dumplings for my favorite daughter 🩷🍎

I jacked my back up really badly last night, and am in a lot of pain. I was hoping the chiro would be open today, but it seems they are not, for the same reason I'm not at work--Veterans' Day. I will just have to figure something out tomorrow.

I'm fundraising for living expenses. If I meet the goal by the 15th of November, I'll release a story that I wrote for Clarion West Writer's Workshop. It's an experimental and philosophical piece about Hypatia of Alexandria called "Knowable, Harmonious, and Good."

Brain: Hey, why don't we--

Me: No.

Brain: You haven't even heard me out.

Me: You probably want something stupid like 20 skeins of Wool Ease Thick and Quick to make a wool over-blanket for the bed that would be so heavy it would violate the Chandrasekar Limit and collapse into a black hole.

Today is a day to wake up late, take a long, hot shower, and dress in warm, comfy clothes. Maybe go to a little café for a few hours to work and drink some good hot tea. Then a nice, long nap followed by soup and fresh made bread.

I don't get to DO any of that, but this is the kind of day for it.

Dear blood,

My nose is not an exit ramp. While I am pleased that you are thick and dark, and chock full of iron now, I need you to stay inside, please. You do me no good on my hands and clothes, making me look like a crime scene in the employee part of the court.

Love,
Nat

Got home, sat down to some veggies for supper, and my nose started *pouring* blood for no discernable reason. Then there was a giant long clot of it--like, wtaf? Glad I took Thursday and Friday off instead of just Friday.

There was a lady robin fighting and vanquishing a mantis on my patio. She ate it. Is there an auspex in the house?

In today's installment of "why do you even HAVE that?" , a co-worker asked once why I keep a pack of socks in my drawer. I explained that I don't like wet feet. After it rained and there were large, unavoidable puddles, they understood. My only rule is they must be washed before being returned.

It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.
It turns out building habits and stuff actually requires not being in survival mode, who knew?!
(Yeah yeah I did)
