Luckily while those books are long they also have multiple filler chapters and chapters that are completely irrelevant to the way the show has layed things out, like Jarre Joining the army or Dijkstra‘s adventure in Lan Exeter

Joey Batey does definitely understand the post modern style of storytelling though even if people don’t appreciate that he does
For the record, I think you probably could make a really good Witcher TV show, and maybe even one directly adapting the the novels (and not just the short stories.) The Netflix show does not manage it, and I think it's very unlikely that a US-based studio is ever going to take another swing at it

Genuinely no hate to annyone but I don't think people really "miss session 1 jaskier" I think you miss the way he made you feel befor he was given troma and character development. He's seen war just like every uther character and is ereversebly changed by that.
