If Farage was made to acknowledge his past behaviour or apologise for it, his career would have ended years ago.

On Jane Austen’s 250th birthday, we felt it only proper to let her review East Anglia Bylines. She was, naturally, delighted – though we suspect she might yet revise several of the sentences in this pastiche.

Ego-fluffing despotic narcissists does not work. You just become a whipping boy, a target for their next outburst.
You cannot contain this. Or appease it. It’s just deferring your losses. It’s never actually winning.
What a cowed and isolated country we are now, if we have to beg not to be punished.
Okay, when are we going to answer back? Push back? Fight back? Anything? Because our way of life and society-building institutions are under attack from outside. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The one thing I'll say is that the Trump post on the Reiners is even more deranged and cut off from all reality when you remember that Michele shot the cover photo for Art of the Deal. Trump usually never passes up a chance to point out stuff like that. He's lost all grip on reality.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

I agree with this comment. It's appalling that Robin Ince has felt he had no option than to resign from a radio show he has been a main part of for years. The BBC has totally lost its way. Due to the appointments by Johnson of directors with very far right views. I won't be listening to TIMC again.
I am so sorry to read this, how are we in a position that a freelance presenter expressing views promoting tolerance, empathy and understanding for many marginalised persons be 'problematic'. If anything, this demonstrates its needed more than ever.
